Comprehensive Duties & Responsibilities

As a Suburban Route Specialist, you will pilot a spacious, comfortable, company-provided delivery van loaded with hundreds of packages. Your routes are characterized by longer distances between stops and high-volume drops at single-family homes. You won't be fighting for parking spaces or arguing with doormen; instead, you will be pulling directly into wide driveways, listening to your favorite music, and enjoying the solitude of the suburbs.

• Expansive Route Execution: Navigate wide-ranging suburban and semi-rural routes efficiently. Manage your time expertly to account for the longer driving distances between individual customer stops while strictly hitting delivery windows.
• Safe Residential Driving: Operate the delivery van with hyper-awareness of suburban hazards. You must remain incredibly vigilant for children playing in streets, loose pets, and blind driveways, strictly adhering to neighborhood speed limits.
• Heavy Order Handling: Suburban customers frequently order large items for their families. You must safely lift, carry, and utilize dollies to transport heavy, multi-box orders (often exceeding 50 lbs total) from the van directly to expansive front porches.
• Property Respect & Care: Act as a respectful guest on customer property. Ensure you do not block driveways, drive on grass, or damage landscaping while maneuvering to the delivery point. Ensure packages are placed securely out of the weather and out of sight from the road.

A Day in the Life in the Suburbs

You arrive at the delivery station, grab a coffee, and load your van. Unlike urban routes, your van is packed with large family-sized boxes and dozens of small parcels. You merge onto the highway, heading out to the surrounding county. Your first stop is a cul-de-sac. You pull effortlessly into the driveway, open the cargo doors, and grab three packages. You walk them up the paved walkway, place them neatly next to the front door, and pet the customer's golden retriever who runs out to greet you. You scan the boxes, complete the delivery, and hop back into the air-conditioned van. You spend your day cruising through tree-lined streets, enjoying the scenery, and delivering daily provisions to busy families, elderly residents, and remote workers. It is a highly independent, low-stress, and physically rewarding day.

Basic Qualifications and Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid state driver's license. Must possess a pristine driving record and pass a comprehensive motor vehicle background check. Exceptional physical stamina required; ability to repetitively lift 50+ lbs and walk up long driveways and walkways throughout the day. Strong time-management skills and the ability to work completely independently without direct supervision for 8-10 hours a day.
