You will be part of the dedicated Amazon warehouse team that gets orders ready for customers relying on Amazon services worldwide. Comprehensive Duties & Responsibilities
Your shift will be highly dynamic and physically active. You will navigate an expansive, climate-controlled environment where human ingenuity meets artificial intelligence. Some of your specific daily duties may include:
- Receive and Put Away Inventory: Accurately induct newly arrived merchandise into the facility and stow it efficiently into designated robotic pods or shelving units.
- Precision Order Picking: Utilize state-of-the-art handheld scanning technology to identify, verify, and select exact items from robotic shelving units, ensuring perfect order accuracy. View prompts on screens and follow digital directions to locate products quickly.
- Strategic Packing: Get customer orders ready and pack them up securely. This involves selecting the optimal box size, applying protective dunnage, securely taping the package, and affixing the final shipping label.
- Shipping and Loading: Load boxes into outbound trucks for shipment, ensuring trailers are fluid-loaded to maximize capacity and prevent shifting during transit.
- Continuous Quality Assurance: At every touchpoint, act as the final set of eyes, identifying damaged packaging or mislabeled items before they leave the facility. Ensure all products meet our rigorous quality requirements.
- Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve inventory or scanning problems at your station to keep the fulfillment process flowing smoothly.
- Heavy Machinery Operation: Depending on your specific role and cross-training, you may operate power industrial trucks (PIT) such as a forklift, order picker, or pallet driver, and work at heights up to 35 feet. This is a highly physical, fast-paced role that requires you to be constantly on the move. To succeed in this environment, you will need to be able to:
- Lift up to 49 pounds consistently without assistance.
- Push or pull utility carts carrying up to 60 pounds of merchandise.
- Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach frequently throughout your entire shift.
- Use a variety of manual material handling equipment including carts, dollies, and hand trucks to move items across the facility.
- Go up and down stairs safely and efficiently (where applicable within the facility layout).
- Work confidently at a height of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine or specialized PIT equipment (where applicable).
- Strictly adhere to all safety, quality, and fulfillment production standards at all times.
